A spot water sensor is used to detect pooling water and is best placed directly beneath equipment or in low-lying areas.
Rope water sensors are best placed around the perimeter of basements walls, and around sump pumps to detect the early signs of basements flooding. Cables may be soaking in water for a long period before anyone notices.
It is recommended if you have raised floors, to deploy rope water sensor under the raised floor around the perimeter of the room to alert if water is discovered.
